Svein Thompson is one of Stakeholder’s founders and senior partner. He is a strategic thinker, an analytical advisor with great capacity. He is a trusted advisor to Norwegian business leaders. Svein has had the lead on various research projects, contributing to new insights and political and industrial change. He has long experience leading complex business processes such as mergers, strike negotiations and similar, all with strong stakeholder interests at its core. He has worked with business politics since the late 1980s and is a leading expert on climate, energy, transportation and fisheries.

Svein has a MSc in economics from the University of Oslo.

Tønnes Thompson is the managing partner of Stakeholder. He is an advisor to clients in strategic processes, such as the development of sustainability strategies or business plans. He has lead our work with assisting a Norwegian energy company to develop a sustainability strategy in line with the EU taxonomy. He has significant experience in public affairs and positioning. He primarily works with clients in the energy, transportation and technology industries.

Tønnes has a MSc in business form NHH, specializing in energy and finance.

Kristin Holter is one of Stakeholder’s founders and a senior partner. She is one of Norway’s leading experts in sustainability. She was an advisor at Stakeholder for nine years before taking the role as manager for circularity at Ruter where she had responsibility for areas such as circular economy, the Norwegian Transparency Act, and ESG reporting. Kristin has returned to Stakeholder with her expertise on climate change, human rights due diligence and sustainability reporting.

Kristin is the previous manager of Ethical Trade Norway, she has worked for the Section for Human Rights, Democracy and Gender Equality in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has a master’s in political science and human rights from the University of Oslo.

Vegard Rem is a partner and senior advisor at Stakeholder. He is the head of research and analyses, and has the leading role in research and analysis projects for our clients. He has valuable experience from two Norwegian ministries, and has unique insight in Norwegian climate politics.

He comes from the climate department in the Ministry of Climate and Environment where he worked with renewable energy and hydrogen, climate politics and climate efforts in different sectors. Vegard  has lead the work with the Solberg’s Government’s hydrogen strategy. He has also had responsibility for the governance of Enova. He has experience working with market analysis and infrastructure development in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. He has a MSc in business from BI, specializing in economics.

Marius Knagenhjelm is a senior advisor at Stakeholder with long experience in the Norwegian government and international relations. He has over 15 years experience working with circular economy, carbon capture and storage, climate, environment and energy in positions in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, the Norwegian Environment Agency and EEA and Norway Grants.

Before joining Stakeholder, Marius was in the Section on Circularity in the Norwegian Environment Agency where he worked with consideration of the new EU regulations for circular economy and as a project leader for analyses on increased waste recycling. In the position as team leader at the EEA and Norway Grants, Marius was responsible for establishing  grants for climate, energy and environment in a number of countries in Central and Southern Europe. In the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, he worked on the Norwegian strategy for carbon capture and storage, governance of Gassnova and grants for research and development in the energy area.

Marius has a MSc in international relations from London School of Economics and Political Science, specializing in political economics and environment.

Linnea Holter Thompson is a senior advisor. She comes from EY, where she was a senior consultant in the Climate Change and Sustainability Services department. At EY, she assisted clients meeting the requirements in the Norwegian Transparency Act and other human rights due diligence projects. Before joining EY, Linnea was a Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist at Varner, a Nordic fashion company. She was responsible for conducting human rights due diligence on parts of the company’s supply chain, preparing the company for the Norwegian Transparency Act and sustainability reporting. In addition to her practical experience working with social sustainability and due diligence for both Norwegian and international companies, she has broad communication experience. She has worked with content and text production, development of annual and sustainability reports, media and PR and strategic communications.

Linnea has a master’s in media and international business from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. She is published in the International Journal of Communication with her article cowritten with Dr. Payal Arora, on digital grievance channels for international supply chains.

Torbjørn Lothe is the former CEO of The Federation of Norwegian Aviation Industries (NHO Luftfart) (2007-2023). Torbjørn has valuable experience with transportation politics in general and is specialized in the aviation industry. In addition to his 16 years in the Federation of Norwegian Aviation Industries, he has spent 13 years working for the Ministry of Transport, leading the aviation section for 11 years. He was the county director for regional development in Akershus county for 4 years and has been a board member at Ruter AS from 2007 to 2012. 

Torbjørn started his career as a route developer for Widerøe in 1984, and was responsible for route planning from 1986 to 1990. 

He has a cand. polit from Bergen University and a degree in transport economy from Molde University College.
